I’ve always being passionate about volunteering, & have been involved in a variety of boards. A big part of my knowledge gained on these boards has been strategic thinking/planning & financial oversight.
With 5 years of experience in Government, I developed an understanding of Finance & Assessment, Risk Assessment & Financial Trends, & Compliance/Regulatory oversight with both Federal & Provincial legislation. Boards included the Fireboard, Police Commission, Airport, NWRC-DPC and Board of Revision/Development Appeals.

Focusing on member retention & marketing leads to significant growth, being able to give back to the community that LCU is proud to do. I hope to work with the Board and Staff at LCU!

PHYLLIS GERMAN
Hi, I am Phyllis German and I am running for director for a second term. Through-out my first term I faced challenges head on and learned from them. The experiences and lessons I learned will help in making me a better director and make the Luseland Credit Union even stronger in the upcoming term. Your support is invaluable and appreciated. I am retired and live in Luseland with my husband Keith, before retiring I worked at RBC for 30 plus years and after work helped on the family farm. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, golfing and reading.

BRENT LATURNUS
My name is Brent Laturnus. I grew up on a farm near Tramping Lake. I went to Vermillion for Crop Technology which allowed me in 2006 to take the assistant manager position for Viterra, making Luseland my home. I left that position in 2008 to take over the family farm, which is what I currently do. I got married in 2011 and have 3 children. In any spare time that I have, I like to go to the lake in the summer, curling and skidooing in the winter. The kids’ extracurricular activities always keep us busy. I have just completed 3 years on the Credit Union board and would like the opportunity to continue representing this community.

BRENDON OBRIGEWITCH
I have been a proud member of Luseland Credit Union for over 15 years, appreciating its approachable service and community-first mindset. As a journeyperson electrician and manager at Ranger Electric LTD., I bring strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Additionally, I own and manage the local convenience store with my wife, Marita, and handle bookkeeping for both businesses, giving me financial insight and leadership experience. Beyond my professional roles, I am committed to our community. I serve as a volunteer firefighter, am a member of the local chamber of commerce, assist with the movie theater, and have helped install Luseland’s memory lights for several years. I love the small-town atmosphere and the spirit of working together to make Luseland better. I believe in fair and honest leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and empowering others to do their best work. I hope to contribute my diverse experience to the Board and be a small part of keeping our Credit Union strong and successful.
